Cathedral of Saint Gemine
bg

12th century
Dating back to the late Gothic period, it was completely rebuilt in the XIX century by the engineer Livoni, with the consultation of the sculptor Antonio Canova who stayed there. The sober façade has a portal of the 15th century. The neoclassical interior with neo-baroque elements preserves four paintings: The martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, Madonna with Child and holy bishop, Saint Matthew the Evangelist and Santa Rita in ecstasy. Under the main altar there is the urn with the relics attributed to Santo Gemine.
